{8 Years Old}



"Erennnn!!"




You called as you chased after the brunette.




He had taken your precious necklace and took off with it. That necklace belonged to your deceased grandmother from Trost. It had a silver chain and a gold pendant which contained a picture of you and her. You treasured it with your life!




You chased after him, but he was too fast for you.




"Ha ha! What's so special about this necklace anyways? You could probably get a lot for it." Eren said as he twirled the necklace around his finger.




He was right. You could get tons of money just by selling it.



But the love for your grandmother was so strong that you would feel eternal guilt if you did.



"No! Now give it back!" You yelled at him as he put it just out of your reach.




"Uh uh~ You have to take it from me!" He smirked, grasping it in his hand.




"Eren!! Give it baackk!!" You cried, reaching for it.




"You gotta catch me first!" He pranced away from you, laughing.

It took a while, but you finally retrieved it.




You sighed, checking the polished jewellery to make sure he didn't scratch it.




Once you verified that it was still perfect, you grinned, happy that you got your special necklace back.




Eren walked up to you, hands in his pockets.




"What's so special about it?"




"My grandmother who passed away gave it to me. It's really special. I treasure it with all my heart."




He looked at you with a sadden expression, seeing tears form in your eyes.



He hugged you, and you cried into his shirt. But he didn't care about that. He consoled you and made sure you were alright.

{Years Later}





"(Name)!!"




You looked up from your book to see Eren running towards you.




You smiled sadly, knowing why he was visiting you.




Today he was leaving to go train in the Survey Corps.




Surely, you would miss him. You were best friends, along with Armin and Mikasa. They were going as well. You didn't join them since your mother was very ill.




He stopped when he reached you and was panting a bit. You looked down.




"You're leaving today, no?"




He nodded, a grimace on his face.




"Yeah... I don't want to leave you though. You might get attacked!"



"I know... But I have to take care of Mother. She's very sick..."



He took a seat next to you.



"I know, but it'd be great if you could come with us!"



"But you could get killed too!"



His expression saddened, a frown on his face.



"But it's for protecting others."



You closed your book, resting it on your lap. You took off your necklace, the same one from all those years ago; the chain and pendant a little rusted but still in good shape.



"Here. I want you to have this."



You took his hand and placed it gently, then you closed his hand.



He looked surprised.



"B-but your grandmother..?"



You looked to the sky, the fluffy clouds passing by.



"She told me that if I ever found someone I love, I should give it to that person."



His eyes widened.



"Y-you... Love me...?"



Then, you took your chance. You kissed him swiftly on the lips, not given him time to react. Sure, he looked surprised but he kissed back.



After running out of air, you both separated.



"I-I love you... Eren." You blushed, looking down at your hands.



He grinned, kissing your cheek.




"I love you too (Name), and don't ever forget that."
