Makoto x Sick!Reader- Special Surprise

"M-Makoto..."



You said weakly as you tried to get up from your position on the bed. Makoto ran over to help you up.



You had been sick for quite a while now. Horrible fever, nausea, and you lost a lot of weight. You were beginning to feel absolutely worthless. You couldn't even do anything for yourself anymore... Makoto helped you with everything.



"(Name)? You ok?" Makoto asked worriedly as he helped lift you up into a sitting position. You were so weak nowadays, you couldn't even lift yourself up.



You nodded shakily, trying not to tear up in front of him. He brought you a tray with some soup.



"Here, this will help get back your strength." He smiled weakly at you. You both shared the same thought... You would never regain your strength... Not when you were in such a sick state.




At least you could lift your arms. You slowly started lifting up the spoon with some soup in it, and put it to your mouth. Makoto watched you as you ate. He was incredibly worried about you. You were so pale... You looked as if you could shatter if he touched you.



He was there for you, night and day. He was practically living at your house now, trying to take care of you. You had stopped going to school about a month ago, when it was just too much, and Makoto had recently stopped going as well. It took a lot of work to look after you.



You were always bored nowadays, with nothing to do. So you would be writing away in a little notebook with lots of (fav animals) that Makoto gave to you. You cherished that notebook with your life. It was basically your diary. You wrote everything in that little book. All your thoughts, your feelings... You wrote things that you told nobody. Not even Makoto.




You were currently writing in that notebook, talking about your sickness and that you didn't know what it was. You were supposed to go to the hospital the next day. You were kind of relieved and scared at the same time. You might find out your illness. It may have a cure. On the other hand... You might be doomed to death, remaining on life support.





Your eyes teared up as you thought such a horrible thing. You mentally facepalmed, scolding yourself for even thinking that.




You scribbled down some of your thoughts before calling Makoto so you could lay down once again and fall into blissful sleep.

(Makoto's POV)




"(Name)~! I have a special surprise for you~!" I cheered as I entered the house. I took off my jacket and shoes before heading upstairs to (Name)'s bedroom. She was surely going to love this!



I slowly opened the door to check if she was awake. She wasn't. Her face was peaceful, so I guess she was having a good dream.




Boy, was I wrong.




I shook her a little to wake her up, but she still wouldn't wake up.



"(Name)?"



I said worriedly. Why wasn't she waking up? Was she playing a prank on me?



"(Name)? (Name)! Wake up please!"



I shook her figure as much as I could. She still wouldn't wake up! I checked her pulse and breathing.




My heart stopped.




Hers did too.




S-she wasn't breathing..! Her pulse..!



My eyes widened. I picked up her frail body, noticing that she suddenly got a lot lighter.



I broke down and cried.


I just... Cried.



That was all I could do.



I couldn't save her; she was already gone.



Why..? Why did she have to go so soon?! She didn't do anything wrong! Why? WHY?!



"(Name).... Why..? Why did you leave me so soon..?!"

That was 3 years ago.



(Name)'s memory still remained in my heart. She would never leave me.



I was sitting on the bed that (Name) was once laying on, looking at a photo book filled with pictures of me and my beloved (Name).



So many memories filled my mind...



Walking in the park... Playing video games together... Taking pictures together...



Tears fell down my cheeks as I thought more and more about her.



I looked to the bedside table. A little velvet box sat there, as it had been for the past few years.



I took a deep breath, smiling sadly while looking up at the ceiling.



"Heh... I never got to give you my special surprise."
